However, what they might not have realised is that by ranking Dublin in 3rd and Cork in 2nd, they have just added another thing the good people of Cork can hold over the capital.
Not to worry too much, Dubs. It might be of solace that strangely enough, Dublin was listed as the 4th friendliest city in the whole world, while, for some reason, Cork doesn't show up at all.
Winning out in the friendliest cities in Europe was Siena in Italy. But try living under the Tuscan sun and not being friendly, come on.
It just even more complimentary about Cork, who just about edged out Dublin this year, saying it's "even more friendlier than the capital."
"Although Cork might be the Republic of Ireland's second-largest city, the port town is even more friendly than the capital, according to our readers. This place has a big personality, an exciting culinary scene, plenty of coffee shops, galleries, museums, and an iconic food market."
Ireland also won out as being voted the friendliest country in the world this year, with the publication recommending The Shelbourne as a place to stay.
I'm sure we can all afford a night there anytime.
