The element of surprise can be crucial in jiu-jitsu and no one understands that better than Bryan Gorman, an instructor of the martial art at DT Fitness in Donegal, who decided pull a sneaky manoeuvre on a member of his club.
At the end of a recent class, Gorman called forward student (and girlfriend) Emer Martin under the pretext of receiving a belt promotion.
What she actually received was something of a shock...
Boom! Surprise proposal in a setting where you'd least expect it. What a classic martial arts move... or should that be MARITAL arts, eh?
I'm not even sorry for that one.
