You'll really get to transport yourself a couple of hundred years with this little vacation.
When visiting the area, you can enjoy a walking route known locally as Clandeboye Way (Helen's Bay to Whitespots Country Park) as well as other local attractions such as the Ava Gallery, Ireland Off-Road Experience, Andrew Jackson Cottage and US Rangers and Clandeboye Estate.
The property was originally built in 1848 by Frederick Lord Dufferin, 5th Baron of Dufferin and Ava in honour of his mother Helen Selina Blackwood. The tower also used as a famine relief project.

And what's even better? There's no TV or WiFi. I know, that might make you panic a bit. But the property owners want visitors to properly enjoy the best of this former way of life: beautiful architecture, fascinating history and a peaceful ambience, without modern distractions.
Helen's Tower is just 30 minutes from the buzzing town of Bangor where there are spots to eat and have a tipple or two.
To find out more details about the property or to book your stay in this insane tower in County Down, you can check it out here.
Imagine it: staying in your very own castle!
