Sometimes staying in a hotel just isn't fulfilling enough. A lot of people who travel for business and/pleasure are choosing to stay in an Airbnb listing rather than a hotel. The reason? Well they're a lot less invasive- if you rent an entire property you have your own space and you can eat in your own time. If you rent just a room from Airbnb you have a host who can point you in the right direction in terms of the best restaurants and entertainment a city has to offer without getting caught in tourist traps. The other great thing about Airbnb is that you get to rent the most incredible mansions, houses, apartments for the same price/less than what you'd pay the equivalent for in a hotel. My guilty pleasure is to go on Airbnb a couple of times a month and look at the sick listings they have from around the globe. And here are some of the more recent ones I found:
Not by any means the cheapest but this house is only a step away from the centre of the incredible jazz scene. It sleeps 7, has a pool and sleek, contemporary design.

This beautiful, spaceous castle sleeps up to 16 people. The perfect alternative for an anniversary party or small wedding. The woods nearby are perfect for walking or hiking. Really has the wow factor and has a certain enchanting feel about it.
This incredible house is located on the top of a hill in Nayarit, Mexico. It sleeps 8 guests for only €304 per night which is a complete bargain. It has equally incredible ocean views.
This phenomenal property sits right on the beach front. Sleeps up to 12 and is the perfect location if you're into surfing. The host will even organise chefs to come in and cook if you'd rather the luxury of sitting back and relaxing.
I don't know where to start with this absolute beauty. This house sleeps 9 and have no exterior walls... so as you lie in bed you can watch the sun set across the valley. Spectacular house for such a cheap price.
Do something different and live on a boat for a few days in middle of one of the busiest and more cultured cities in Europe.
