What kind of bar do you like to drink in when you're on your holliers?
Something local and authentic, with native beers and spirits and exciting foods, or is something a bit more familiar the watering hole for you - like it is for more than half of Irish people.
A new survey published by Amárach Research shows that a staggering 55% of Irish people seek out Irish bars when abroad to have their daily pint in.
Yep, no wonder every holiday resort town in Spain has at least one Irish bar - people really do love going here and feeling like they're back in their local.
The research also found that the love Irish people have for their pub is huge.
47% of people associate their local pub with ‘socialising’,48% with a ‘friendly atmosphere’ and almost one in five (19%) with tradition.
Pubs also mark the beginnings of many Irish couples’ romances.
Nearly one third (32%) said they met their lover at a pub, hotel, or nightclub.
