This Is The Most Dramatic Coastal Walking Trail In Ireland — Here’s Why

This little island of ours has no shortage of breathtaking sights, but you probably think you've seen them all at this point.

However, you might have never made the journey to The Gobbins in Islandmagee, Co. Antrim.

The brainchild of railway engineer Berkley Dean Wise, The Gobbins was opened way back in 1902 in an attempt to attract tourists to this pretty, if secluded, little corner of the world.

The route takes two and a half hours to complete and on it you'll traverse narrow metal bridges which hugs the cliff face, explore hidden tunnels and climb stone staircases that were once used by smugglers.

Tours go every hour, taking groups of 10 and fitting them with helmets for safety, where you'll learn about the area and its history of privateers.
