If you've got a fear of heights, the words 'rope bridge' are probably enough to make you break out in a cold sweat.
You can't help but think of how these structures are always been portrayed in movies: rickety, flimsy, swinging and liable to fall apart at any moment.
Not exactly the happy place for someone with acrophobia.
Luckily for those folks then that the Skywalk in County Kerry doesn't fit the movie mould of a rope bridge, having been constructed to the highest standards over a five-month period and not a single loose wooden plank on it.
Located in Kells Bay House & Gardens along the Skellig Coast, the Skywalk is the longest rope bridge in Ireland, being 112ft in length, and is suspended at around 36ft over the Delligeennagh river.
That might sound daunting, but I think you'll agree after laying eyes on it that, while impressive, it doesn't look particularly scary.
As if we didn't have enough excuses to visit the Wild Atlantic Way already.
