Airbnb truly is changing the way many of us travel, and after profiling some of the very best pads you could rent south of the border, we're headed north this week.
While the prices might look off the charts, you have to remember that you can bring a huge gang of friends and make a weekend out of it. If you split the cost between about a dozen of you, many of these insane pads work out cheaper than a hotel.
Book a weekend off work, get the credit card out and round up some mates because you won't often get to say you stayed in one of these kind of places...
1. Slemish House Spa & Retreat
Less than 10 minutes' drive from Ballymena, Slemish House is a luxurious 5000 sq ft 5-bedroom villa with it's own 12m x 6m swimming pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna.
It offers panoramic views of the Braid valley, with Slemish Mountain just behind. It works out at about €100 per person when you count the 12 people who can stay here. Imagine the party you could have!
2. Belle Isle Castle
Situated on the northern tip of Upper Lough Erne, Belle Isle is a 470-acre estate spread over eight picturesque islands. Inhabited since the 12th century, the estate offers a wide range of attractive accommodation including its 17th Century Castle.
The best thing about it is that it sleeps up to 16 so it's not that expensive at €1200 a night.
3. Glenmore Manor
A complimentary mix of old and new with the feeling of home. Glenmore Manor offers up a unique experience with its 6 perfect bedrooms, two large living rooms and the heated full-length swimming pool.
Sleeping room for 16 guests make this a cheap option for a wedding or one serious party at less than €100 each.
4. Georgian Mansion Limavady
This one comes in at over €3000 a night but considering what you are getting, it's a pretty sweet ass deal.
You'll even have your own chef and staff to clean rooms. So it's really more of a private hotel for you and your 15 friends, and a once in a lifetime experience.
The awards were presented at a ceremony in Paris. Sixteen Irish hotels joined the Michelin Key list for 2025, with two hotels retaining the top honour of a Three-Key distinction. Like how the renowned Michelin Star recognises the most outstanding restaurants in the world, the Michelin Key does the same for outstanding hotels. The honours […]
