They give up what's supposed to be the most relaxing day of the year in order to make our tummies very happy indeed, and probably a little bit too full.

There's so much more to a Christmas feast than just the turkey. "All the trimmings" could be literally anything and can include roast potatoes, Brussels sprouts, carrots, peas, stuffing, bread sauce, mashed potato, ham, cranberry sauce and the pièce de résistance, the gravy, which binds all the elements together under one roof of pure Christmas goodness.
