Perfect Property, there are ten spots in particular that have proven to be very popular among people looking for property in
Cork.
This got us thinking, what is it about these areas that draw people so much? Well, we're going to explore just that right now.
Based on figures given to us by Perfect Property, these were the top ten most popular areas to buy property in Cork in 2019.

10. Glanmire
Nine kilometres outside of Cork City, Glanmire ranks as the tenth most popular area to buy property in Cork in 2019.
Here's why that might be...
If you're a fan of getting out and about, there's Dunsland Garden Centre, Lakemount Gardens and Riverstown Country Market.
It also has a fab beauty salon, a quaint little classic Irish pub and even a huge indoor play centre for kids.
For a wee town, it's some spot.
9. Kinsale
Bursting with colour, this spot attracts loads of visitors every year as well as people looking to buy property.
It has everything from fabulous shopping, delicious dining and warm and welcoming Irish pubs.
Some popular spots to eat in this lovely little neck of the woods would be Bastion, Cosy Cafe and Finn's Table restaurant.
Meanwhile, some much-loved pubs in the area include Folkhouse Bar, Hamlets of Kinsale and Jim Edwards Restaurant and Bar.
You're also fairly close to many beaches here so there's plenty of opportunities to experience the pure beauty that is County Cork.
8. Douglas
Douglas is another bustling little compact town featuring mainstream shopping outlets, fabulous eateries, cafes and pubs.
Located just 16 minutes outside of Cork City Centre, it's a lovely mix between urban living and rural life.
Some popular spots for a bite to eat and a cheeky pint would be Marcello's, Eco Douglas, South County Cafe Bar and Barry's of Douglas.
7. Youghal
There always seems to be something going in in this East Cork gem, such as the Youghal Medieval Festival and Ironman Ireland.
Plus, there is no shortage of places to eat in this spot. You'll get stunning local cuisine at Blackwater Restaurant, Aherne's Seafood Restaurant and Bar and Capel Island Restaurant.
If you're in the mood for a pint, then you'll be able to head to The Anchor Bar, The Coast Bar, Farrells Summerfield Bar or The Point Bar.
6. Ballincollig
This little suburban town located at the western side of Cork City is pure gorgeous. And there's no shortage of excitement either.
With a shopping centre built into historic walls of the old Military Barracks, stunning Irish pubs and great restaurants, Ballincollig has more charm than you could shake a stick at.
5. Cobh
We could talk for ages about why Cobh is an unreal place to live, but we'll try to keep it brief.
Perched on an island in Cork City Harbour, it's one of the most unique places you could decide to live.
If you've ever been a tourist here, you'll know that there are loads of unreal attractions such as Spike Island, Fota Island, Cobh Museum, Cobh Heritage Centre and Cobh Harbour Boat Hire, to name a few. But there is much more to it than that.
It is full of amazing pubs and nightclubs, restaurants serving up local and international cuisine, and stellar coastal views.
4. Carrigaline
Located 12km from Cork City and 5km from Ringaskiddy Ferryport or Cork Airport, this spot proved quite popular among house hunters in 2019.
First of all, the area provides plenty of opportunities to get out and about in nature with the Currabinny Forest Trail close by, as well as many other scenic walks in the area.
Plus, the eating is good with restaurants such as Rotal Pacific Chinese, Spice Indian Cuisine and Ristorante Romano.
3. Bandon
This small but busy town was the third most popular spot in Cork amongst those looking for property in Cork in 2019. Here's why...
It's a mere 30-minute drive to the excitement of Cork City Centre, but there's plenty going on here to keep you busy.
In terms of eating, you'll get great Italian grub at Caffe Italiano, while you'll get some pretty good pizza from Padraigins Pizza.
Now for pubs, there's Copper Grove, Bradys Bar and The Old Still.
2. Midleton
Just missing out on the top spot is this lovely little town in southeast Cork.
This truly unique part of the country has everything from pubs, restaurants and unreal nightlife to fabulous nature and stunning coastal views.
The town is a 25-minute drive from Cork City and a 35-minute drive from Cork Airport. Although the laidback, unhurried feel is probably going to be the thing that attracts you to this place.
Some of the highlights of the area include is the beautifully restored Old Midleton Distillery, Garryvoe Beach and all of the colourful shops, bars and restaurants in the centre of the town.
Fun fact: the town is actually home to Jameson Irish Whiskey.
1. Mallow
Are you surprised? It's some spot for one spot.
First of all, the dining opportunities are fantastic. There's an unreal bakery and deli called Food Caspers, which is hugely popular. Or for delicious Irish fare, there's Brudar's Bakery.
In terms of nightlife, there's no shortage of that either with class pubs like Albert Lynch's, The Olde Fiddle and The Arches Bar and Restaurant.
And if you're wanting to get out and about, there's plenty of opportunities to do that with Mallow Town Park, Doneraile Wildlife Park and the Cannon Sheehan Loop all close by.
