As we all know, Pride lasts long beyond the month of June.
This is especially true in county Kerry, where Kingdom Pride are hosting their own festival this month.

The festival takes place from Friday 16th until Saturday 17th of July and features an amazing schedule of events including hikes, swims, drag karaoke and quiz nights. There are also family friendly days out including Rainbow Storytelling in Kerry County Library.

Morgan Queeney, Chairperson of Kingdom Pride, commented, “In a time that has been isolating for so many, Pride couldn’t come at a better point. Our Pride’s theme is “Year of the Phoenix”. Every social community is rising from the ashes and being reborn, and we aim to do the same. Our goal is to deliver hope, fun, and colour into life in Kerry for our community and our many allies.”
Pride is something that should be celebrated all year round, and all over the country. While we've been delighted to see Pride festivities in Irish cities throughout June, it's important to celebrate LGBTQ+ communities throughout the country, especially in small rural communities. With this in mind, Kingdom Pride has organised this annual event to highlight and celebrate those LGBTQ+ individuals that make up the fabric of Ireland’s regional towns and villages.
These in-person, COVID-safe events will take place across Killarney, Tralee, Listowel, and Waterville, and will be supplemented by online events for those who chose to celebrate remotely, whether they are located elsewhere across Kerry, Ireland, or indeed the world.
