Pride is that special time of year when the whole country becomes a little more colourful, open and fun. It's also the ideal time to host a little get together.

If you're throwing a Pride shindig this year, put some thought into it. Decorate your home according to the theme, make some creative dishes and prepare a menu of drinks specially selected for the occasion.

We've done some research to find a few cocktails that are absolutely perfect for the exciting, spectacular and memorable event that is Pride...

Rainbow Float

Ingredients:

• 50ml Smirnoff
• 50ml pineapple juice
• 75ml lemon lime soda
• 5-6 scoops rainbow sherbet
• Strawberries and raspberries

Recipe:

1. Fill a glass with ice.
2. Pour your Smirnoff, pineapple juice and lemon lime soda over the ice.
3. Add strawberries and raspberries to the mixture, then stir vigorously.
4. Top your glass with a scoop of rainbow sherbet.

Green Grinder Punch

Ingredients:

• 50ml Smirnoff
• 75ml white cranberry juice
• 75ml soda
• Green food colouring
• Lemon juice
• Apple slices

Recipe:

1. Fill a glass with ice.
2. Pour your Smirnoff, white cranberry juice, lemon juice, green food colouring and soda over the ice.
3. Add apple slices to the glass and stir vigorously.
4. Garnish your glass with a wedge of lemon.

Smirnoff Soda Fruit Smash

Ingredients:

• 50ml Smirnoff
• 75ml Schweppes Soda Water
• Ice
• 1 lime/1 grapefruit/1 orange (whatever fruit takes your fancy!)

Recipe:

1. Fill a highball glass with ice.
2. Pour your Smirnoff over the ice.
3. Firmly smash half of your chosen fruit into the glass. Add Schweppes Soda Water to the mixture.
4. Garnish your glass with a wedge of lime/grapefruit/orange.

Equalitea

Ingredients:

• 50ml Smirnoff
• 100ml iced tea
• Sliced peaches
• Mint leaves

Recipes:

1. Fill a glass with ice.
2. Pour Smirnoff and iced tea over the ice.
3. Add sliced peaches to the mixture and stir vigorously.
4. Garnish your glass with mint leaves.

Pride Punch

Ingredients:

• 50ml Smirnoff
• 50ml grapefruit juice
• 50ml soda
• Limes

Recipe:

1. Fill a glass with ice.
2. Pour your Smirnoff and grapefruit juice over the ice.
3. Add sliced limes and soda to the mixture.
4. Garnish your glass with a wedge of lime.
