WOW air has announced it is offering Irish passengers free return flights to New York this Valentine’s Day.
The offer is valid for booking from tomorrow, Thursday, 24 January, until Thursday, 14 February for travel between 10–19 February 2019 from Dublin to New York via Reykjavik.
But there's one big catch...your name needs to be 'Valentine'.
Flights must be booked via the WOW air website during these dates and one of the two passengers travelling must have this name as their first name or surname to receive a refund on the return flights.
The name ‘Valentine’ gives you eligibility to book one free return flight which can be for your partner, so it’s just one return flight that can be given for this deal.
Therefore, two people are getting to New York having only paid for one ticket.
Now where did I put that fake ID...
Valentino might cut it, Valerie will certainly not.
New York City is the ultimate destination to celebrate Valentine’s Day, with an abundance of activities for loved-up couples to enjoy. Be it a romantic stroll through Central Park, an intimate proposal in Times Square, or a rendezvous at the top of the Empire State Building, the city is bursting with landmarks and attractions to suit all budgets.
To redeem the offer, passengers named Valentine need to send photographic proof of ID in the form of a passport or driver’s license to valentines@wow.is.*
Don't worry if your name is not Valentine because WOW air has also announced it is offering its Irish passengers flights to North America, via Reykjavik, for as little as €99 one way to destinations including New York, Boston, Washington DC, Detroit, Toronto and Montréal for travel between February and May.
Svanhvít Fridriksdóttir, Director of Communications at WOW air, said about the deal:
“We are huge fans of Valentine’s Day here at WOW and are delighted to be able to offer Irish passengers named Valentine the opportunity to visit the romantic sights of New York with their significant other.
“We want to extend the love to all our Irish passengers and offer even lower fares on our North American destinations, giving them the chance to fall in love with new destinations and rediscover old ones.”
