Here we go again.
An Taoiseach Micheál Martin will once again address the nation with an update about Ireland's Covid-19 restrictions tomorrow. Current measures are set to end on April 5 (Easter Monday) but with case numbers remaining stubbornly high, it looks unlikely that we will see any major reopening of society next week.
The National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) is meeting today to discuss the advice they will give to the Government and it's widely reported that the 5km exercise limit will be eased in some way. Whether that means it will be extended to 10km, county borders or scrapped altogether remains to be seen.
There has also been talk of a return to sports training for children, in pods of 15, and people may be allowed to meet up with more than one other household outdoors.
It's also hoped that the Government will shed some light on what Covid-19 restrictions will be in place in May and June and whether the like of hairdressers and outdoor dining will be allowed to reopen during the early summer.
Micheál Martin will address the nation at around teatime on Tuesday after a meeting of the Cabinet.
