There has been a lot of talk about Ireland getting a seriously bitter and snowy winter this year.
Since we were hit with the 'Beast from the East' and Storm Emma, people have been wary when it comes to talking about imminent snow.
Earlier this week, it was said that Ireland and the UK were currently being hit by a Scandinavian High.
This 'high' normally offers the best chance of getting snow and can become extremely intense during winter and early spring.
It brings with it, sub zero conditions and snow showers that can be expected as late as March.
The last time there was high pressure over Scandinavia, the 'Beast from the East' and Storm Emma occured.
And while many weather experts said that this 'high' could be bringing severe weather this winter to Ireland, it has a long way to go before it gets to the extent of the 'Beast from the East'.
Weather expert, Liam Dutton, has outlined the difference between our current weather pattern and that of when Storm Emma hit.

So, the picture on the right is the one to focus on when finding out how bad the weather is going to be.
