On Saturday, Met Eireann told the public that Ireland is expected to get a "Cyclonic Weather Pattern" next week.
The warning has the potential to bump Ireland up to as far as a red warning, depending on how bad it gets.
With that, they have now issued a weather warning for five counties.
The Status Yellow, Rainfall warning is for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow and Waterford
It was issued on Sunday at 11am and is expected to be in place from 9pm on Sunday night until 9am the following morning.
Met Eireann has warned people in the south east of the country that heavy rain is coming overnight with at least 20-30mm expected to fall.
They have also issued a Status Yellow - Small Craft Warning too stating that "Cyclonic winds, mainly northwesterly in direction will reach force 6 and gusty for a time on Sunday night, on Irish coasts from Roches Point to Mizen Head to Valentia."
For the rest of the country, it will be Dry in the northwest early on Sunday night, but the rain will become widespread overnight.
It will be heaviest in eastern and southeastern coastal counties overnight, with some local flooding.
But the rain should be more patchy in western and northwestern coastal areas. Misty too, with hill and coastal fog.
Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 C., coolest in the northwest. Moderate cyclonic winds will be fresh on some coasts.
