Hairdressers may not be reopening until mid-May, as the Government continues to consider how to ease restrictions over the summer.
Appearing on Claire Byrne Live last night, Irish Mirror journalist Ciara Phelan suggested that it could be May 18 before personal services such as hairdressers reopen, while outdoor dining may have to wait until the end of May. However, one Government minister has
stated that "there is a big push to get personal services open sooner.”
These are just some of the decisions that the Government are deliberating on ahead of an announcement on the next easing of restrictions which is expected on Thursday. It's thought that a roadmap will be set out, allowing businesses to plan for their reopening throughout May, June and July.
The National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) will meet on Wednesday before Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tony Holohan writes to Health Minister Stephen Donnelly with their recommendations.
Yesterday,
some restrictions were eased as part of April's staggered reopening, with outdoor amenities like Dublin Zoo and golf courses opening back up.
