It would take a lot for us to just throw away a milkshake, but one person in Newcastle felt compelled to do just that earlier today.
Nigel Farage was making an appearance in the city to campaign for his Brexit party ahead of the European Election this Friday, May 24 when a passer-by hurdled the milkshake at him, splattering it all over his suit.
The person who threw the milkshake at Farage was dragged away by the Police Community Support Officer while the politician was rushed away by his bodyguard.
In a video circulating on social media, someone can be heard shouting ‘fascist’ at Farage as he walked away. He can be heard saying to his bodyguard, “How did you not stop that?”

As the controversial politician was ushered into a taxi, he could be heard uttering, “complete failure” and “I could have spotted that a mile off” to his security.
This ‘milkshaking’ comes after a McDonalds in Edinburgh had apparently been asked to stop serving milkshakes during a visit from Farage in case such an incident occurred.
Burger King then chimed in when they tweeted, “Dear people of Scotland. We’re selling milkshakes all weekend. Have fun. Love BK.”

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of common assault and remains in police custody."
That man, Paul Crowther from Throckley, Newcastle, said it was a £5.25 Five Guys banana and salted caramel milkshake he threw at Farage.
He said, "I didn't know he [Farage] was in town, I thought this is my only chance.
"It's a right of protest against people like him.
"The bile and the racism he spouts out in this country is far more damaging than a bit of milkshake to his front."
