These Are The Early Turnout Percentages For Voting Throughout Ireland

With less than an hour to go until the voting on the Eighth Amendment referendum is wrapped up, RTÉ reporters throughout the country were hard at work gathering information on the voter turnout percentages throughout Ireland.

On the 9 O'Clock bulletin, four correspondents in each province revealed the approximate percentages which ranged from low 40% to high 70%. 

Of course, it is impossible to know what the actual turnout will be until the voting is closed at 10pm but this is a good indication as to how many Irish people had their say today so far. 

These were their findings:

Cork City - around 50%
Cork County – 52%
Limerick – 50% (However some places are recording high 60s to 70% in places)
Waterford 55-58%
Tipperary 50%
Clare – 47%
Kerry – 50%
Midlands – 40 – 50%
Carlow-Kilkenny 55%
Louth around 60% with peaks of 70%
Kildare Around 60% with peaks of 68%
Offaly Around 60% with peaks of 65%
Donegal – 43 to 60%
Sligo – 60% in several booths
Leitrim – Around 50% 
Mayo – Around 50% 
Cavan-Monaghan – 60%
Roscommon-Galway – Around 60% in Roscommon and around 50% in Galway East and West
North Dublin mid 50s with highs of 68% (The highest turnout was in Clontarf – 65% and Glasnevin – 63% while one of the lowest was Whitefriar Street at 44%. All polling stations in Dublin predicted to exceed 50%. Another noteworthy fact is that Blanchardstown had a 65% turnout at 6pm)
Wicklow – Around 60% with highs of 68.5%
Meath east – Around 48%
