The registration portal has opened two days earlier than expected.
To manage demand and make it easier for everyone to register, HSE have asked that people in the age group register on specific days, based on age:
- 34 - register today (7th July) or anytime after
- 33 - register on Thursday 8th or anytime after
- 32 - register on Friday 9th or anytime after
- 31 - register on Saturday 10th or anytime after
- 30 - register on Sunday 11th or anytime after
Through the portal, this age group will be able to register for an mRNA vaccine from either Pfizer or Moderna.
Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has also confirmed that those aged 30-34 may opt in for an earlier dose of the AstraZeneca jab.
The HSE announced yesterday that half the Irish adult population are now fully vaccinated - amounting to 1.9 million people. However, concerns continue surrounding the Delta variant, which now accounts for 70% of new cases in Ireland.
People aged 30-34 can register for their vaccine online through the
HSE website or by phoning 1800 851 500. For anyone who is deaf or hard of hearing, there is a HSE text line to contact at 086 1800 661.
Once you've registered, the HSE will send details of your vaccine appointment via text, three to seven days before your appointment will take place.
