PICS: These Were The Worst Areas In Ireland Affected By The Snow

A snow-ice Weather Warning is currently in place for the whole of Ireland.

The warning was issued on Monday and is in place until Tuesday morning with another warning expected to follow.

According to Met Eireann, the worst affected areas so far by the snow were Kerry, Donegal, Monaghan and Cavan.

As well as this, Met Eireann has said that Tuesday will be very cold with a big chance of more hail, sleet and snow.

This comes after the Met Office warned of plummeting temperatures and possibility of 'Thundersnow'.

Met Eireann has said that most of the snow showers will fall on high ground and that temperatures will go as low as 2 degrees on Tuesday with them falling to below zero come night time.

Here's what the rest of the week is set to look like:

Wednesday - "Mainly dry in the eastern half of the country, with bright spells and a few isolated showers, but cold.

Cloudier further west, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle extending eastwards across Munster and Connacht during the afternoon and evening, bringing a rise in temperatures."

Thursday - "Mostly cloudy, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, but some dry intervals will develop gradually during the afternoon, mainly in inland parts of Munster and Connacht. "

Friday - "Mild and mostly dry, with a few bright spells, but predominantly cloudy, with patches of mist and drizzle, mainly along Atlantic coasts and on high ground."
