Here Are The Counties With The Best And Worst Broadband Access In Ireland

The results of this survey probably won't be surprising for people living in the West.

The latest report by IBEC looked at different barriers to business expansion in Ireland and pointed a finger at the lack of access to high-speed internet.

According to the Department of the Environment, less than two thirds of the country has access to high speed broadband.

Unsurprisingly, Dublin and the surrounding counties of Kildare, Louth and Wicklow have the highest levels of broadband penetration, while Roscommon, Leitrim, Mayo and Monaghan have the lowest.

Here's how each county ranks. 

The light blue lines are how much access there is currently, and the dark blue lines are how much will have to be made up by the Government's plan to increase broadband access.

The report also mentions the lack of joined up transport and poor road quality as challenges for local businesses.
