If you're anything like me, then you absolutely LOVE tapas (seriously, read my bio).
Ever since watching About Time, that adorable film with Domhnall Gleeson, Rachel McAdams where Domhnall plays a character that can time travel, I've wanted to re-enact that scene where the two characters meet at a Dine in the Dark dinner. Romance at its height.
Picaderos, an incredible Argentinian and Spanish restaurant in Maynooth, Co.Kildare is hosting its very own Dine in the Dark event tomorrow night (February 28). It is actually the second event that they have hosted as the first one went down so well that they decided to do another one.
Picaderos serves some of the best tapas I have ever tasted, and I've eaten a lot of tapas. Just check out the menu - it speaks for itself. If you do make the visit, make sure to order the deep fried brie cheese with piquillo pepper jam, it's easily the best thing on the menu.
The Dine in the Dark event will offer guests a unique experience to eat in complete darkness. The idea is that with the loss of one sense, your other senses, like taste and smell, are greatly increased.
Diners will enjoy a 6 course tapas tasting menu, and each course will be paired with a specially selected wine, and the whole thing will be accompanied by some great music. Tickets cost €65 per person, with proceeds going to the National Council For The Blind. It is well worth the money and would definitely spice up an otherwise regular Tuesday!
