The wearing of face coverings in shops and indoor settings is 'likely' to be made mandatory following government discussions today, RTE is reporting.

The Cabinet is meeting today to discuss if and how Ireland can move safely into phase 4 of the government roadmap on Monday as scheduled. One of the items being discussed is whether to make face coverings compulsory in shops and other indoor settings, something which RTE says is now 'likely'. The reopening of pubs that don't serve food is also being debated, with Virgin Media's Richard Chambers now saying that it is 'increasingly unlikely that all pubs will be opening on July 20.' https://twitter.com/newschambers/status/1283426366302687235 The government are said to be concerned about a recent increase in Covid-19 cases meaning that there could be a number of alterations to phase 4 of the roadmap which is due to begin on Monday.
