A recent DNA map discovery by the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin finally proves that Irish people have Viking and Nordic genes that are to blame for our delicate tummies.
Compared with the rest of Europe, the Irish have higher rates of cystic fibrosis, coeliac disease, and galactosemia (a metabolic disorder).
It's thought that by looking at our ancient genes, doctors will be able to match organ donors better and have a more thorough understanding of our health.
