'Tis very nippy out these days, particularly down in Galway where temperatures dropped to -6.4 decrees Celsius last night.
Giving an update on what the minimum air temperatures were at their 25 synoptic weather stations last night, it ranged from -6.4 degrees Celsius at Athenry in Galway to 2.5 degrees Celsius at Malin Head in Co Donegal.

A series of
weather warnings were issued by both the national meteorological services here and in the UK yesterday - encompassing the entire island of Ireland, some of those warnings remained in place until 11am this morning.
Forecasters have said that the general outlook for the rest of the week is "unsettled with spells of rain".
Today's weather will be mostly dry with sunshine though there will be a few rain or hail showers in west Connacht and north Ulster. Frost will develop for a time early this evening with rain across the south and west turning heavy and persistent overnight.
According to Met Éireann: "The rain may be preceded by some sleet or snow for a time across Ulster. Minimum temperatures of -1 to 3 degrees, occurring early in the night, but turning less cold in the south and west later with freshening southerly winds."
