Taoiseach Micheál Martin appeared on BBC's The Andrew Marr Show with a message for UK residents who might be looking to holiday in Ireland.
The Sunday morning talk show welcomed new Taoiseach Micheál Martin today and viewers were told in no uncertain terms that they will need to quarantine for two weeks if they want to come to Ireland, for the time being at least.
When asked if the UK will be on Ireland's 'green list' of countries considered safe, Martin said: "Suppression of the virus is key," before adding: "In certain parts of the UK there are still difficulties where certain areas have had to go into lockdown. Caution is the watchword here."
Martin continued: "In terms of people coming in to Ireland, the advisory and the quarantining still remains and it's under constant review. Why? Because there's a lot of international volatility with this virus, we've seen a spike in numbers. We're very concerned about that."
