Storm Ernesto Set To Batter Ireland This Weekend

Batten down the hatches, get the supplies in and switch on Netflix, because you ain't going anywhere kid.

Weather experts in Ireland are warning that Ireland will feel the height of Storm Ernesto in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The tail-end of the storm will bring with it a wet and breezy conditions on Saturday night/Sunday morning.

And like most storms, it will bring a calm with it on Saturday evening with temperatures reaching highs of 25 degrees.

All in all, Ireland is expected to get 10-15mm of rainfall on Saturday.

Storm Ernesto is a post-tropical cyclone which is due to become extratropical as it merges with a frontal zone on Saturday.

The storm is newly named by the US National Hurricane centre and has already reached maximum sustained winds near 40 mph with the possibility of additional strengthening over the next few days.

It is centered around 695 miles southeast of Canada and it is feared that it could grow into a major hurricane by Saturday.
