But if you've left it all until today, we reckon you'll be looking at some evening dashes later this week as Storm Deirdre lays her claim on the country.
Shoppers will be majorly hampered by "disruptive and damaging" gusts after Met Eireann put a Status Orange weather warning in place last night.
Met Eireann warned: “west or northwest winds will reach mean speeds of 65km/h with gusts of 100km/h generally, with disruptive and damaging gusts to 130km/h likely for a few hours in western and southern counties in the late afternoon and transferring eastwards during the evening.”
This morning's Met.ie weather report reads:
"Fairly widespread rain this morning, with some heavy, possibly thundery falls in places, especially in some southern and western areas, with spot flooding. Some short dry spells also.
"Windy with strong and gusty southeast winds, but a period of stormy conditions, with some disruptive and damaging gusts will develop for a few hours this afternoon in parts of Munster and Connacht and these severe winds will then transfer to northern and eastern counties during the evening and early tonight. Afternoon temperatures of 7 to 12 C."
"Extremely windy or stormy in eastern and northern area early tonight, but the winds will soon abate. Rain will give way to occasional showers, some heavy in southern areas, with a risk of hail and thunder. Turning cold overnight, as temperatures fall to between 1 and 4 C., with frost developing in places."
The Status Orange warning is in place from 3pm this afternoon and lasts until midnight tonight. There is also a Status Yellow rain warning in place across Ireland until midnight.
Get as much shopping as you can out of the way this morning and then get back in under the duvet! Won't have to tell us twice...
