PICS: Weather Experts Warn Storm Ali Will “Really Pack A Punch” As Scary Few Days Of Irish Weather Awaits

Between Storm Helene, Joyce and Ali, Ireland could have a few scary days of weather ahead of it.

Weather experts are warning that while Helene and Joyce make their way to Ireland also, Storm Ali is the one to watch out for as it could "really pack a punch".

Carlow Weather's Alan O'Reilly said that the "Latest ECMWF charts show some damaging gusts Wednesday as system approaches the West, if these charts verify we could be looking at our first named storm of the season #StormAli".

As Storm Helene approaches, there has already been weather warnings for rain in the west of the country but Carlow Weather suggest that a "windy but mild" day is ahead for Monday so far.

A Status Yellow Rainfall Warning was issued for Mayo and Galway on Sunday and Met Éireann said that "on Monday between midday and midnight 25 to 40 mm of rainfall is expected over west Galway and Co. Mayo with a risk of flooding in places".

The warning is in place from 12pm on Monday until midnight.

As well as this, a Status Yellow Gale Warning was issued at 5am on Monday morning which says that "west to southwest winds will reach gale force Monday evening and Monday night".
