Status Yellow Wind warning extended to more parts of the country

Met Éireann has today issued an updated Status Yellow weather warning for the country in preparation for strong winds and the "elevated risk of coastal flooding". A Status Yellow weather warning was issued to 11 counties yesterday, with Met Éireann today extending that warning to Clare, Kerry, Tipperary, Waterford and much of Leinster. Updating the public on what's to come, here's what the national forecaster had to say: "UPDATE: Status Yellow - Wind Warning Leinster, Clare, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford Becoming very windy tonight (Tuesday night) and on Wednesday morning. Strong and gusty southeast winds, veering southwest will gust up to 100km/h. " Also predicting the "elevated risk of coastal flooding" due to high seas and strong onshore winds, the warning is in place from 9pm this evening until 9am tomorrow morning. A Status Orange wind warning has also been issued for Cork with the public being warned against gale-force winds and localised flooding. https://twitter.com/MetEireann/status/1338780615550918656 Sunny spells and scattered showers are in store for much of the south and west today, bringing with them a risk of hail that may merge into longer spells of rain at times. Cloud will increase as the day goes on with it becoming wet and blustery overnight.
