In place as of 12am this morning, the Status Yellow warning will remain in place until 10am.
A Status Yellow fog warning for 13 counties took effect this morning with forecasters warning that dense fog could lead to hazardous driving conditions.
Issued for counties Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Dublin, Kildare, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Leitrim, Roscommon and Sligo, the warning will remain in place until 10am.
Warning that caution is needed on essential journeys this morning due to very foggy conditions, officials at AA Roadwatch took to social media to remind drivers to use fog lights where needed.
Forecasters expect that the frost and fog will clear from most areas to leave a "dry day with sunny spells". It will be mainly dry overnight as well with clear skies and light winds though fog and frost are also likely with minimum temperatures of -1 to +3 degrees.

Tomorrow will be "rather cloudy" across eastern and southern counties with Met Éireann warning that there will be the chance of a "few showers". The north and west of the country will remain dry with sunny spells developing and maximum temperatures of 7 to 12 degrees.
According to Met Éireann:
"Current indications suggest that the weather will turn somewhat more mixed for the weekend with an increased chance of some rain or showers."
Let's hope that's not the case and keep our fingers crossed for sunshine though.
