Spring Is In The Air With ‘Good Sunshine For Much Of The Country’ This Weekend

Could it be? Could we really have seen the last of the cold weather and biting winds which have plagued us for weeks now? Well, probably not. But for this weekend at least, it seems like things are looking up.

Met Éireann is predicting a bright weekend with sunny spells but there will still be some sleet and snow in mountainous areas. Saturday will see some showers but Sunday is expected to be the day when things really pick up before a dry and sunny start to next week as well.

Here's how things are looking for the weekend.

Saturday

Saturday will see a lot of dry weather with sunny spells, however there'll be showers, some of sleet and snow on hills and mountains. The showers will be most frequent in the west and north. Temperatures in the afternoon will be between 5 and 7 degrees and winds will be fresh northwesterly in direction.

Sunday

Sunday will be mostly dry with good sunshine for much of the country, at times it will become cloudier along the east coast where there is a chance of rain or drizzle in the afternoon. Light northerly winds will veer northeast to east during the day, becoming southeasterly by Sunday night. Daytime temperatures will be between 5 and 8 degrees.
