"Conor has signed, and 'Cowboy' is ready to go," White told ESPN.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B5a2kEzJP5p/McGregor has not fought since his submission defeat to perennial rival Khabib Nurmagomedov last October and 'The Notorious' remains eager to earn a rematch with the undefeated Russian.
In order to stake his claim for another lightweight title shot, McGregor is in desperate need of a victory but it is reported that his fight with Cerrone will take place at welterweight.
The former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion has fought at 170lbs on two occasions in the past, in his pair of fights with Nate Diaz in 2016.
It has been over three years since the Dubliner won a fight but McGregor is confident that he will reclaim his status as the biggest superstar in the UFC.
The 31-year-old's last victory came when he knocked out Eddie Alvarez to win the UFC's 155lbs title, becoming the first fighter in the organisation's history to hold titles in two different weight classes simultaneously.
