Motorists caught speeding outside schools in Northern Ireland may face 'Kids Court'.
Those found to be driving over the speed limit in school zones can chose between facing the children and explaining their actions, or accepting penalty points and a fine.
The aim of the initiative is to impact drivers and encourage them to slow down on the roads.
At Artigarvan Primary school in Strabane, one court attendee, Driver Arron Cooley, dubbed the initiative a good idea.
Nine drivers stood before a panel of seven students and over half an hour, explained why they had broken the 30mph speed limit as they entered Artigarvan village.
Acting principal Rachel Kane said the event 'has had a huge impact' on both the children'and the drivers.
“Hopefully, awareness will spread and people will slow down, take care and be patient to keep the children at our school safe,” she added.
