Spanish sport stars have been paying tribute to former Ireland striker Michael Robinson who has passed away at the age of 61.
Michael Robinson played for Ireland between 1980 and 1986 during a career that also saw him win the First Division title and European Cup with Liverpool.
After finishing his playing career in Spain in 1989, Robinson went on to become a household name in the country as host of sport programme El Día Después and later his own monthly magazine series Informe Robinson.
A number of prominent Spanish sporting names have been paying tribute to Robinson this morning, with tennis star Rafa Nadal posting 'You were the one who always made us happy about sport'. Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramo shared a clip of his own appearance on Informe Robinson while among others to pay tribute are Xabi Alonso, Luis Garcia and Barcelona FC.

Robinson's family broke the news this morning by posting the words 'With tremendous sadness, we inform you of Michael’s death. It leaves us with a great emptiness, but also countless memories, full of the same love that you have shown him. We will be eternally grateful to you for making this man SO HAPPY, he never walked alone. Thank you.'
