An additional status yellow rain warning has been issued by Met Eireann for five counties - Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Sligo, Mayo - for Monday and Tuesday.

As we've probably all learned by now, Ireland tends not to get its worst weather in winter anymore.
Nope, we can actually expect things to get much more unsettled at the beginning of spring, and as we're now officially into February, that is pretty much what we should be anticipating.
Right on cue, there is a weather warning issued to six counties on the island, with potentially heavy snow and ice expected over the next day or two.
As per the Met UK, "Snow, with a risk of widespread ice, is likely to push slowly northeast during Tuesday, bringing difficult travel conditions", and it should be expected in Antrim, Armagh, Derry, Down, Fermanagh, and Tyrone, from 10pm tonight (Monday, February 1) to 11.59pm on Tuesday night.
Beyond that, Met Eireann are expecting a full week of wet and breezy conditions, with some particular
highlights including tonight, in which they predict "a band of heavy rain will extend northeastwards over the country early tonight bringing a risk of localised flooding".
There is also Tuesday, which has the following forecast: "There will be some bright spells but also widespread showers, some heavy and with a risk of isolated thunderstorms."
