The country is in for yet more wintry conditions with forecasters this morning issuing a Status Yellow snow and ice warning for three of the four provinces.
Met Éireann has this morning issued another Status Yellow weather warning, advising that sleet, snow and strong gale force winds will hit throughout the day.
According to forecasters:
"A band of sleet and snow spreading northeastwards during Thursday giving snow accumulations of up to 5cm in some areas (higher over the mountains), but transitioning to rain in the west and south on Thursday night."
Issued earlier this morning, the warning extends to all of Munster, Connacht and Leinster will remain in place until 8am tomorrow.

A Status Yellow wind warning was also issued for Munster, Connacht and Leinster during the week with it taking effect as of 8am this morning. Strong to gale force winds are likely to hit throughout the day, combining with rain, sleet and snow and leading to "poor visibility and hazardous conditions".
Tonight will bring further sleet and snowfall with some accumulations and frost and ice likely too. Temperatures will drop to below freezing with persistent rainfall along southern coastal areas also expected.
