Low-cost airline Norwegian Air International is set to expand its services from Shannon Airport to New York and Boston this year.
Shannon Airport announced the news earlier today in a statement that read: "Shannon Airport has today welcomed the news that Norwegian Air International is to expand its Boston and New York services to Shannon for 2018."
The airline first commenced services from Shannon Airport last July, with two flights.
However, from March onwards, the airline will be running four flights a week to Providence Green Airport, Rhode Island which is just over one hour from Boston.

The airline is also adding a new route to Stewart International Airport, Orange County, taking its weekly service from two flights to three.
Norwegian Chief Commercial Officer Thomas Ramdahl said: "Our new transatlantic routes from Ireland have made a strong start so we are delighted to add extra services at Shannon where our affordable flights to the US have proved particularly popular with passengers."
"These additional flights will give Irish passengers even more choice and are another important step in our plans for continued growth in Ireland."
Andrew Murphy, Shannon Airport Managing Director, also welcomed the news, saying: "This announcement clearly demonstrates Norwegian’s commitment at Shannon and results in an increase of over 200% in capacity by the airline in 2018."
