A transatlantic jet was forced to divert to Shannon Airport on Wednesday morning after fears of a possible fire on board.
The Virgin flight was diverted to Shannon Airport at around 8am after it was flying from Antigua to Gatwick Airport in London.
The call was made when the plane was about 250km south of Cork and there was just under 300 passengers on board at the time.
An Airport fire and rescue crew met the jet on the terminal and a full examination was carried out according to The Irish Sun
A replacement aircraft took the passengers from Shannon to London afterwards.

This comes only a couple of days after another Virgin flight was forced to divert to Shannon after smoke was reported onboard also.
That transatlantic flight - which was also heading to Gatwick - landed in Shannon as well.
