Dublin, Wexford and Wicklow have just been issued a Status Yellow wind warning by Met Éireann.
The alert is currently in effect and remains valid until 2pm on Tuesday (20 January), with the Irish meteorological service warning of “very strong and gusty southeast winds”.
“Possible impacts: Hazardous travelling conditions, wave overtopping and localised coastal flooding,” Met Éireann adds.
The national forecast for Ireland on Tuesday, meanwhile, reads: “This morning, rain and blustery conditions in the south and west will gradually move northeastwards across the country.
“A brief clearance to sunny spells and isolated showers will follow behind the rain before further outbreaks of rain push into the southwest later.
“Fresh to strong and gusty southeasterly winds will decrease moderate to fresh behind the rain. Highest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees.”
As for the rest of the week, Met Éireann’s national outlook overview says conditions will be “unsettled”, with “frequent spells of rain”.
