Liverpool CEO Shares Photo Of Seán Cox Celebrating Champions League Win

Liverpool CEO Peter Moore has shared a heartwarming photo of Irish fan Seán Cox celebrating the team's Champions League victory with his son last night. The photo of Seán and his son Jack was originally shared by the Support Sean group that was set up to promote fundraising campaigns and document his recovery. Moore wrote, ‘Been some great photos tonight, this is the best.’

Seán, who is from Dunboyne, Co Meath, was discharged from the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dun Laoghaire for the evening to watch the game and his family said he returned “elated”. The 54-year old suffered life-changing head injuries in an unprovoked attack outside the Champions League semi-final between Liverpool and AC Roma in April 2018. He made his first public appearance since the attack at a fundraising match between Liverpool and Ireland legends at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium this April, which was attended by 27,000 people. Seán's wife Martina Cox said, “On Sean’s behalf, I want to offer our heartfelt congratulations to Liverpool Football Club on winning the Champions League. "The club and its fans have taken Seán, our family and I, into their hearts since Seán’s attack last year. "Nobody could be happier than the Cox family for Jurgen Klopp, his players and the wonderful Liverpool fans. Seán watched the game with us at home, proudly wearing a signed Liverpool jersey sent to him by the club's CEO Peter Moore last week.
