Ryanair Has Been Named ‘Worst Airline’ For The Sixth Year In A Row

Ryanair has just been named the 'worst airline’ for the sixth year running in a survey by the consumer website Which?

They say the main reason for this is the fact the airline still catches people out with their hidden costs, and 70% of those surveyed said that if there was one airline they’d never fly with again, it would be Ryanair.

The annual survey of short-haul airlines also listed Wizz Air and Thomas Cook Airlines in the bottom three with Ryanair.

The consumer survey added that Ryanair’s additional charges for luggage and assigned seating often make them more expensive than their rivals.

In new baggage rules that were introduced in November, passengers have to pay €8 to check in a 10kg bag and a larger case weighing up to 20kg will cost €25, or sometimes more depending on the route and season.

Anyone who pays for priority boarding will still be able to bring a ‘personal’ bag on board, as well as their 10kg suitcase.

If you do turn up to the gate with a larger bag and try to bring it on board without paying the priority fee, you’ll be charged €25 to have it put into the hold.

Meanwhile the top three airlines on the Which? list were Aurigny Air Service (Guernsey’s main airline), Swiss and Jet2.

A representative for Ryanair called the Which? survey “unrepresentative and worthless” and said that “it delivers industry-leading customer service”.
