An Urgent Rainfall Weather Warning Issued For 15 Counties

And there you were thinking that you'd be enjoying the Bank Holiday Saturday in the sun, eh?

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Rainfall weather warning for 15 counties and they are: Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Dublin, Kildare, Longford, Louth, Offaly, Westmeath and Meath.

They say that Saturday will see "high intensity rainfall in scattered thunderstorms will lead to spot flooding. 25 to 50 mm possible over short periods."

The warning was issued at 10am on Saturday morning and will last for exactly 12 hours. 

It follows a weather warning of a similar kind from yesterday so don't be surprised if you see more rainfall warnings over the weekend either. 

As well as this, there is also a 'blight warning' and they are stating that "weather conditions are conducive to the spread of Potato Blight and are likely to occur in coastal areas."

This warning was issued on Friday at 5am. 

As for the rest of the Bank Holiday around Ireland, it will be mostly showery with mist and fog on Saturday.

Mild and close, with lowest temperatures of 10 to 15 degrees.

Sunday will clear, however, to give a warm day with sunny spells. Most places will be dry, but a few showers will develop in parts of the west and north. 

Highest temperatures will range from 20 to 24 degrees, warmest inland with near calm conditions and local sea breezes later.

On Monday, there is the possibility of sharp showers with the threat of thunder also. 

Highest temperatures will generally range from 20 to 23/24 degrees, warmest across southern counties.
