PICS: Supermarkets Are Recalling Two Items Due To A Moth Infestation And Mislabeling

Two products are being recalled in Irish supermarkets due to a moth infestation and mislabeling.

Barkat Gluten Free Porridge Oats and Marks and Spencer Louisiana BBQ Chicken Flatties have been recalled due to issues with both products.

Barkat Organic Gluten Free Porridge Flakes have been taken from shelves due to a moth infestation as a precautionary measure.

The FSA said: "As a precautionary measure, the above batch of Barkat organic gluten-free porridge flakes is being recalled following consumer complaints of the presence of small Grain Moths and their larvae.

"Consumers are advised to dispose of the implicated batch or return it to the place of purchase."

Batches with a best before date of 06/10/2018 are affected.

They were on sale in a number of shops around Ireland.

A recall notice has been issued by Marks and Spencer on some batches of their Louisiana BBQ Chicken Flatties.

The FSA said, "due to a labelling error, milk was undeclared on the labels of the above batches of M&S Louisiana BBQ Chicken Flatties. This may make the batches unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of milk or its constituents."

The affected batches include all date codes up to and including use by 30/06/2018.
