This Is The Average Monthly Cost Of Fuel For Your Car Right Now

Motorists of Ireland, you may want to sit down for this one — we've got some bad news for your wallet.

According to a newly released survey by AA Car Insurance, the typical monthly spend on fuel for an Irish car is now up to €125.

Conor Faughnan, AA Director of Consumer Affairs, stated that 60% of what consumers pay at the pump is due to government taxes introduced during the recession which were not addressed by the last budget.

According to the AA’s monthly fuel prices update, a litre of petrol currently costs 134.9c, while diesel costs on average 123.4c per litre.

Worrying raises in fuel costs such as this has lead to 30% of motorists considering switching to an electric car when they buy their next vehicle.
