People Can Now Have Their Say On New Clamping Regulations

The National Transport Authority has just today announced the beginning of a public consultation on proposed new regulations on Ireland's clamping system.

According to 98FM, the new proposals could include ending excessive fees to remove private and public clamps.

The plan set to go ahead would set a maximum fee of €100 to have a clamp removed by either a private company or on public roads.

As well as this, a 10 minutes grace period for those who have paid parking in full is also in the plan.  

Another idea being considered is that all clamping companies would have to provide a full refund if the clamp has not yet been removed within two hours of the fee being paid.

People have until Wednesday, July 26 to have their say.
