Penneys Finally Announce The ‘Sizing’ News We’ve Been Complaining About For Years

The thought of heading in the doors of a Penneys, no matter where it is in the country, will either make you weak at the knees or sick to your stomach.

For some it is heaven and for others it is complete hell.

Over the weekend, the chain announced that it would be expanding its size range and are switching from numbered sizing to letter sizing including the options of 2XS and 2XL.

The store told Pretty 52 that:

"We have updated our sizing for a more comfortable fit - we will be grouping sizes into S/M/L etc, rather than 8/10/12 etc.

"The new sizing is trickling into stores now and will be used for a small amount of lingerie plus a large selection of womenswear including: Jumpers, cardigans, jersey tops, sports tops, casual bottoms, workout apparel, shorts (not denim shorts), light jackets and some swimwear."

"One of the hardest things for me as a teenage girl was not being able to shop in the same places as my pals, so it thrills me to think that gals like me will be able to pop into Penneys and pick up a few bits.

"Obviously I’m happy that it’ll be easier for me to shop there too, but it’s bigger than that. Other retailers need to cop on and follow suit," she said on her Twitter.
