Don't have a moment to spare? Team HOPE has given you a lifeline. And it couldn't be easier...
There’s still time to share your Christmas with some of the world’s poorest children as Irish charity Team Hope launches its Online Christmas Shoebox Appeal – 'It’s a Simple Gesture’.
Team Hope is Ireland’s leading Christian International Development Aid charity working with needy children in Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union and Africa. For over 20 years now and with its Northern Ireland partner Drop Inn, their Christmas Shoebox Appeal helps teach children to share and bring joy, hope and excitement to vulnerable children overseas.
Team Hope will be delivering gift-filled shoeboxes containing copybooks, hygiene items, an item of clothing and a toy, directly into the hands of children in Kenya in time for Christmas and it’s easy for anyone to get involved.
“The children who are receiving Christmas shoeboxes are amongst the poorest of the poor, and a simple gift-filled shoebox is a meaningful symbol of life and hope,” says Niall Barry, Executive Director of Team Hope.
“It’s a simple gesture - it won’t end poverty tomorrow but it will make a difference immediately. A shoebox gives children the means to be able to keep themselves clean and healthy, learn in school and experience the fun of playing with a small toy.”
