The newest album from the Cranberries will feature vocals and lyrics by Dolores O'Riordan, which she was working on a day before her tragic death. The band also announced they will be breaking up after the album is released. Dolores was found dead in a hotel room in London at the start of this year. Her death was ruled an accident as a result of drowning due to alcohol intoxication this week. At the time, she was working on a new album with her fellow Cranberries bandmates as well as mixing a record for her side project D.A.R.K. According to Independent.ie, the Cranberries album was almost finished when she died and the band completed it a few months after her passing. Speaking to the Guardian, the band confirmed they will split up after the album is released. “We will do this album and then that will be it,” Noel told the publication. “There is no need to continue.” “Dolores had an awful lot going on and she was on a roll of being able to write,” Noel said. “Lyrically, the new album is very strong.
